Procurement for Project Managers is a three-day, integrated, case-study-based class. It discusses the processes required to acquire goods and services and attain project scope from outside the organization. The project manager needs to ensure that he/she is getting the right products or services at the right time and securing the best value for the project. The project manager procures a considerable portion of the products and services needed on a project. Thus, procurement management is a critical factor for the successful completion of a project. The project manager must develop and apply the necessary skills and competencies to manage it effectively and efficiently. This course is aligned with the latest version of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge® (PMI® Guide to the PMBOK®). Participants will learn and apply procurement management skills, tools, and techniques through case studies and hands-on activities in a project context.
